At Streltsov Family Law, we believe quality legal representation should be clear, accessible, and tailored to your situation. Family law matters can be stressful enough without uncertainty about fees, which is why we take the time to explain your options, outline expected costs, and help you choose an approach that fits your case and your budget.
Every family law matter is different. Some cases can be resolved quickly and efficiently, while others require extensive negotiation, court hearings, or ongoing litigation. During your initial consultation, we will discuss the facts of your case, explain the likely scope of work, and provide guidance on the billing structure that makes the most sense for you.
Hourly Billing:
Hourly billing is typically used for contested or more complex cases, where the amount of work cannot be predicted at the outset. With this option, you pay an initial retainer, and the firm bills against that retainer as work is completed on your case.
You will receive periodic billing statements showing the work performed and the balance remaining in your retainer. The total cost of an hourly case depends on several factors, including the complexity of the issues, the level of conflict, the number of hearings, and the amount of preparation required.
Flat Fee Services:
For certain matters, Streltsov Family Law offers flat fee pricing. This means you pay a set price at the beginning of the case, giving you greater predictability and peace of mind.
Flat fees may be available for agreed divorces, custom legal document drafting, some adoptions, and other limited-scope matters. During your consultation, we can discuss whether your case is a good fit for a flat fee arrangement.
Payment Plans:
We understand that paying for legal services all at once is not always realistic. That is why we offer monthly payment plans in many cases, allowing clients to move forward without having to pay the full cost upfront.
Payment plan terms depend on the type of case, the expected scope of work, and the overall estimated cost. We will go over available options during your consultation so you have a clear understanding of what to expect.
What Affects the Cost of a Case?
The cost of a family law matter can vary based on issues such as:
- Whether the case is agreed or contested.
- Whether children, property, or support issues are involved.
- The number of court hearings or contested motions.
- The amount of documentation and discovery required.
- Whether the matter can be resolved through agreement, mediation, or requires litigation.
